Father's Day Gift Guide
Hey Modern Farmhouse Girl!
My Dad is my hero. He is also one of my best friends.
When I moved from my hometown in Massachusetts to a tiny town in Minnesota for college, I called Dad every day all four years, sometimes twice a day! Now that I live in Vermont, I still talk on the phone with Dad regularly and luckily don't live as far away anymore, so I get to see him in person every other month or so, too!
Dad only deserves the best of the best as far as I'm concerned, and a dream of mine since I was a little kid has been to buy my dad a real Rolex watch. Growing up, my Mom and Dad liked to take my siblings and I into New York City for weekend trips, and our favorite locale used to be China Town! Anyway, we always used to get "fish cookies" (Google is telling me the actual name for these is Mooncake Biscuits) and Dad would usually buy a "Rolex" watch from someone selling them on the street or in a shop. (One year I got a "Michael Kors" bag there too!) Of course, I'm quite a ways away from having the money to splurge on a Rolex for Dad, and that may be out of your price range for your Pops too!
For now, I think these more reasonably priced gifts are pretty awesome for Father's Day, coming up on Sunday, June 17!
The Art of Shaving — ShavingCream
5 oz ($25)
I discovered The Art of Shaving store in The Mall of America back when I lived in Minnesota. Ever since I bought my Dad their classic cream, he's asked for it every year! I'm sure their new Bergamot & Neroli Cream smells amazing.
The Tie Bar — Novelty Tie ($19)
My Dad has a great tie collection (he loves to collect Christmas themed ties!) so I always like to keep an eye out for special ones and this website is my new go to!
Capital Gaines —(from $9.99 for Kindle)
I pre-ordered Chip's book "Capital Gaines" on Amazon and read it in one day. My Dad loves to read and he loves Fixer Upper, so I'm planning to give him a copy for Father's Day.
Moon Birdfeeder—($26.95) Gardeners.com
I don't know about your dad but mine loves birds...and bird feeders. (He has a 'pet' hummingbird he named "Flint" that he swears comes back to see him every year.) I think this bird feeder is beautiful! And from a favorite local Vermont company, Gardener's Supply.
Game Day Tickets
Whenever I ask Dad what he wants—for his birthday, Christmas, Father's Day—he always says, "Nothing!" It turns out, Dad's favorite gift is always spending time with his kids, and I'm sure that's the best gift you could give your dad too. But why not take your dad somewhere fun to spend quality time together? Try a sports game!
To everyone who will be missing their dad on this day, I am sending lots of LOVE and hugs. To all the dads out there, Happy Father's Day!
To my dad: "The Best Dad In The World" I love you!
