Beachy Gift Guide
Hey Modern Farmhouse Girl!
Happy Memorial Day and Three-Day-Weekend!
Thanks to my gal-pal (and only nurse friend because I can only take so many gory stories over breakfast) Julia, I'm taking a weekend away from home decor and DIY projects...in Wells Beach, Maine!
Julia's aunt is generously letting us stay at her home and we arrived here last night. It's actually a trailer house and I'M IN LOVE—it's completely decorated in a beachy theme, as all beach houses should be. The sliding front door showcases a frosted glass lighthouse, I had my a.m. coffee in a mermaid mug, and I want this sign (for my future beach house) in the kitchen that reads: "When We Count Our Blessings We Count Our Days At The Beach."
We spent our first morning here exploring Kennebunkport and the whole afternoon tanning at the beautiful Parsons Beach. Tomorrow we're off to Portland and then it'll be back to the beach again!
Since I've got the beach on my brain, here's a fun beach-inspired gift guide (read too: my wish/shopping list) to start off your summer.
Home Depot sells these folding Adirondack chairs that are perfect for packing up and bringing to the beach. I bought one in white for my back porch and I love it! (It was fairly easy to put together too, though I did have to take out the drill and widen some of the pre-made screw holes during assembly.)
